Remember these 3 things next time you meditate

If you are an entrepreneur or simply a busy person in general, and you have followed my advice about starting your own meditation habit, chances are you have encountered the following problem at one point or another: You weren't motivated to sit down and meditate. Today, I want to address this problem together with you so we can avoid it in the future and get you the amazing results and benefits you deserve to see.

#1 Missing one day is not the end of the world

As I like to say to my clients: "Missing one day is okay, missing two days is bad, and missing three days is setting yourself up for failure." The take away from that message is that we are all human, and no one is able to meditate every single day of their lives. Even though that is the commitment I want my clients to make in theory, in practice we all know that we are bound to skip a day here and there.

The question is, however: How many days in a row will you allow yourself to set yourself back? It's one thing to really not feel like meditating on a given morning, but if you skip a full week, for example, you might really sabotage yourself and the promise you made to yourself when it comes to consistently meditating. Remember the quote:

Missing one day is okay, missing two days is bad, and missing three days is setting yourself up for failure.

Have you ever sat down to meditate even when you really didn't feel like it? You didn't want to but you did it anyways and afterwards you felt really great and empowered. You did something you weren't feeling up to, but you did it anyways because you knew it would make you a better, stronger, more productive and happier person. I want you to remember and feel into that sensation and emotion every time you are tempted to skip out on your next meditation session. Simply holding up this mental image and feeling of satisfaction after a completed session is enough, in many cases, to get you to do it anyways.

#2 Remember where you started

As an entrepreneur myself, I often feel like what I achieved so far is not enough. I want to reach the next milestone, hit the next target and check off all of my to-do lists. That is what makes up a successful entrepreneur; the drive and will to continually achieve great things, but it doesn't hurt to look back on where you come from every so often, and pat yourself on the back for the amazing progress you have made so far.

No doubt that there is room for improvement, there always is. But reminding yourself of the progress you have made thus far and the difficulties you have overcome is a great thing to stay motivated and inspired to do even better in the future. Meditation is absolutely no exception to this.

#3 If you feel stuck or don't notice progress, reach out

One of the main concerns of my intermediate students is that they feel a lack of results after a few months of meditating, which eats away at their motivation to keep going. This is completely normal, and usually after hitting a glass ceiling it takes an extra effort to push through into the advanced level.

If, however, you have been meditating consistently for multiple months or even close to a year or more, and you feel like the positive effects of your meditation habit have subsided or aren't as obvious anymore at all, then feel free to reach out! I am here to help you with all the resources I have available on this website and through my coaching, and I will be adding many more in the future so make sure to return here on a regular basis.
